Torah Codes Tutorial: 8
Belief System Controversy
There is a controversy over Torah codes. This controversy has a number of dimensions. The first one is a controversy over belief system: a belief system conflict.
- The existence of Torah Codes is compatible with the belief that the Torah was Divinely given on Mount Sinai just over 3300 years ago.
- The non-existence of Torah Codes is compatible with the belief that the Torah was Divinely given on Mount Sinai just over 3300 years ago.
- The existence of Torah codes is not compatible with the Scientism Hypothesis.
- The Scientism Hypothesis implies that Torah Codes cannot exist.
The Scientism Hypothesis
- Scientism claims that there is nothing else in the universe other than materiality: matter, energy and the forces that constrain them.
- Scientism does not recognize Divinity and does away with metaphysical, philosophical, and religious claims, as the truths they proclaim cannot be established by the scientific method.
- Scientism maintains there is no knowledge about the physical world other than that which can be established by the scientific method.
- Scientism maintains that there are no miracles, no special or unusual events that are caused by science fiction time travelers or God. Both, scientism maintains are not possible.
- The Scientism Hypothesis implies that Torah Codes cannot exist.
- Scientism is not part of or required by science or scientific methodology.
